A ClipTap tag flips that: people can always reach you about this car, and that's the only thing they can do. No name, no number, no profile — just a message box, both directions.
How it works
- Scan the sticker. That is the whole sign-up: enter your email and the tag is yours. Give the car a label only you choose — "Silver Tacoma" — so a scanner knows they've got the right vehicle. That label is the only thing they'll ever see about you.
- Put it on the glass. The sticker is weatherproof vinyl, and it goes on the outside of the glass — tint sits between an inside code and the camera, and a dark tint can stop it scanning. Best spot is the small fixed pane behind the rear door window. It is made to survive weather and car washes without reprinting.
- Get messages, answer privately. A scan opens a message box — no app, no account, nothing to sign up for on their side. Messages land in your vehicle inbox with an email ping. Replies travel through the same anonymous thread.
What people actually use it for
QR first, NFC optional — for a reason
NFC is great in a wallet card and unreliable through a car window; glass and distance defeat the tap more often than not. So the vehicle tag leads with what always works: a printed QR code that any phone camera reads through the windshield. If you want tap too, program any cheap NFC inlay with the same link and mount it beside the sticker — the sheet leaves room for exactly that.

Does the person scanning need an app?

Do I have to put my name or number on my car?
